10 Reasons Why Squarespace Is My Favorite Platform

There are a lot of web platforms out there and it can be tough to decide which one is best for you. My favorite web platform to date is, hands down, Squarespace. I highly recommend it to each and every one of my design clients and these are my reasons why:

1. Beautiful

First of all, each and every template is beautifully-designed. They are professional, clean, modern and help you stand out from the crowd.

2. Customizable

Customization and versatility are key for a successful website. Squarespace allows you to easily customize any template to make it unique and your own.

Once of my favorite things about Squarespace is the ability to code to further customize my client’s sites. Squarespace’s Custom CSS and Code Injection capabilities are perfect for taking a template to the next level.

3. Easy-to-use

After you familiarize yourself with Squarespace and how it works, you will realize how easy and intuitive it really is. I always offer my clients a tutorial so they feel comfortable making changes on their own once my work is done. There really isn’t a huge learning curve, it comes naturally to most. It’s easy to drag and drop, add pages, publish blog posts, make style changes etc…

4. Compatible

Each template is compatible across all platforms. Today, more than ever, it’s important for your website to look beautiful and seamless across smartphones, tablets and computers. The good news is that Squarespace tackles this one for you. You can even view how your website will look across the three platforms right on the Squarespace website.

5. All Inclusive

For me - and I’m sure I’m not alone here - the most frustrating thing when setting up a website was having to purchase a domain from one platform, find hosting on another, then having to connect the domain to the hosting site. This takes time and is just plain frustrating - especially for those without experience. Squarespace is an all-in-one platform which means you can get your domain, hosting, and even a custom email address included all in your monthly subscription.

6. Great support and forums

Squarespace has a great customer support available for you 24/7 via email and live chat. Answers -  Squarespace’s forum - is a great way to find solutions that fall outside the scope of the customer service. It’s a great community and helpful for finding tips on certain themes, for code modifications and more.

7. Easy for e-commerce

Setting up an online shop of your website can be tricky with all the plugins and coding, and not to mention, it can get expensive. But with Squarespace, you can easily add your online shop. In addition, simple integration with Stripe and PayPal makes it super easy to sell your products.

8. Built-in analytics

Squarespace’s marketing tools and analytics are great and easily accessible. You can access your analytics right from your Squarespace account to get insight on how your site is performing. You can see where your traffic is coming from, which pages/posts are gaining the most attention, which key words are driving traffic to your site from search engines, and much more.

9. Affordable plans for everyone

With plans starting at $12/month (billed annually) Squarespace is very affordable. Here is a breakdown of the four plans:

Personal $12/month

Business $18/month

E-Commerce Basic $26/month

E-Commerce Advanced $40/month

10. SEO-ready

SEO is always a major concern for anyone launching a new website. The good news is that if you go with Squarespace, your site is already generally optimized for SEO. Squarespace has implemented various strategies to help websites appear in search engines. With that said, there are many additional things that you can, and should do, within Squarespace to further improve your SEO. I’ll dive into all of those details in a future post!

I hope this was helpful and gives your an understanding why Squarespace is the sole platform I work with. PS. I have no partnership of affiliation with Squarespace, I just genuinely love it.
